Good morning from my office. We are expecting our first winter storm this weekend. Wunderground has a little red triangle warning us that we are under a flash flood watch, a detail that does not hurt ouf feelings one bit. The moisture will be welcome. When we are in town tonight I will buy a ham hock and a bag of potatoes and we'll settle down with potato soup to enjoy the storm.
I have resisted blogging for so long because I have always thought I would expend my creative energy on beautiful blog posts instead of...uh um... writing books. However, as I set up this new website, I stumbled upon the button that let's me blog right here on WIX. I hope to include content that I normally put on facebook, instagram and twitter, but I also want to showcase artists who are doing good work, who inspire me, from time to time. No promises about how faithful I will be, but I do promise FUN! And happiness and joy and peace and a little bit of spice.
I am reading THE UNSETTLING OF AMERICA by Wendell Berry and AND THE MOUNTAINS ECHOED by Khaled Hosseini. My playlist returns again and again to Diana Krall singing Joni Mitchell's A CASE OF YOU and I WISH I WAS THE MOON by Neko Case. There is lukewarm coffee in the mug by my side, but I'll switch to hot tea soon.
